It is with very great sadness that we hear of the sudden death of Mike Tucker, for so long the voice of equestrianism on television and indeed at numerous events and shows all over the UK and round the world.
Mike was a huge friend to and supporter of Badminton, having lived all his life in the area. He rode here on many occasions, the highlight being second place on General Bugle. He commentated here for over 35 years and was hugely involved in the local farming and hunting communities. He was universally liked and respected and was a true personal friend to many of those involved in the Horse Trials.
Mike had many varied aspects to his life – as a Horse Trials Organiser, as a Course Designer, as a Racecourse Steward, as a cattle breeder – but above all as a family man. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Angela, his children Emma and Andrew, his grandchildren and all of his extended family. We will miss him enormously.
