ARRIVALS
Blind Calls should be made with Badminton radio frequency 123.180 prior to arrival.
When approaching the area, Helicopters should join the circuit at an appropriate point, routing well clear of the Horse Trials Site east of the Airfield. There are Helicopter aiming points to the north and south of the Landing Area to facilitate this.
Pilots shall keep a good lookout for other aircraft, particularly non-radio aircraft and transit traffic.
Helicopters should be operated in a safe and predictable manner and should not manoeuvre in a way that could attract adverse attention.
Pilots should be mindful of legislation concerning the overflying of large crowds.
PARKING
Helicopter parking will be either side of the hangar, depending on numbers, within mown grass spot circles.
Helicopters manoeuvring on the ground should keep a good lookout for pedestrians and uncontrolled vehicles.
Helicopter commanders are responsible for the safety of their passengers walking to and from their helicopter. When available ground staff may assist with this.
DEPARTURE
Blind Calls should be made on Badminton radio frequency 123.180 prior to departure.
Helicopters must not fly over the Horse Trials area to the east of the airfield. (See above and see Map). After departing the Badminton ATZ, helicopters should call Brize Radar, Cardiff Radar or the London FIS. Bristol Radar no longer provides LARS. If flying close to Bristol Controlled Airspace, listen out on 125.650 and squawk 5077. Pilots should be mindful of the nearby airfield at Kemble.
Helicopters that are parked adjacent to the Hangar may arrive or depart at any time of day
