Biography

It will be a Badminton debut for British rider and reigning World Champion Yasmin Ingham (27) the winner at the 2022 world championships in Pratoni with Banzai du Loir. The combination was the reserve for the 2024 Olympic team. Last year with Badminton entry Rehy DJ Yasmin placed 10th in the 5* at Pau and in both 2023 & ’24 the combination placed 3rd in the 5* classes in Luhmuhlen.

Yasmin was born and brought up on the Isle of Man, where she was a member of the Isle of Man branch of the Pony Club. She also competed in working hunter showing classes qualifying for both the Royal International Horse Show and Horse of the Year Show. In 2013 she had her first taste of international eventing success when winning team and individual gold medals at the Pony European Championships. After leaving school aged 16 Yasmin moved to the mainland to ride for Eddie and Sue Davies and Janette Chinn at the Pewit Stud in Cheshire.

Since then, she’s risen through the ranks to become under-18, under-21 and in 2019 the under-25 National Champion later that year placing 4th at the Young Rider European Championships with Rehy DJ. She made her CCI5* debut at Pau in 2018 (Night Line – 6th).

In 2022 she made her senior championship debut with Banzai du Loir representing Great Britain as individuals at the FEI Eventing World Championship. The pair made it a winning debut and at the age of 25, Ysamin added her name to list of world champions that includes Mary Gordon-Watson, Lucinda Green, Ginny Elliott, Zara Tindall and teammate Ros Canter. In 2023 with Banzai she won the CCI4*-S in Aachen – the first British combination to win the title and was selected for the British team to contest the FEI Eventing European Championship in Le Pin au Haras where she won her first senior team gold. Last year she was selected as the reserve for The British Olympic team.
