Biography
British-based American rider Tiana Coudray (36) gained her third completion of the event in 2024 with Cancaras Girl – her entry this year also. She previously gained two completions with former ride Ringwood Magister with who she was a member of the American team to contest the 2012 London Olympic Games. Cancaras Gilr has previously completed Bramham and Blenheim 4*L.
Tiana began eventing in 2003 aged 14 at Ojai Valley School, California – a school that allowed students to ride after lessons in lieu of more traditional activities and from 2004 trained with Bea and Derek De Grazia. In 2004 and 2008, she won Young Rider team gold at the North American Young Rider’s Championships, winning individual silver in ‘04. She was named the 2005, 2007 and 2009 USEA Young Rider of the Year.
With Ringwood Magister she was a member of the American team to contest the London Olympic Games.
Up until she was 15, Tiana spent 10-years as an Irish Dancer, training and competing around the world, including five Irish Dancing World Championships where she had a career high of finishing 8th in the World.
Tiana trains with Tracey Robinson, Tina Fletcher and Philip Surl.
Cancaras Girl is a 15-year-old Holsteiner mare. She is by Cancara a son of Cassini out a mare by the thoroughbred Narew. She was acquired as a 6-year-old from Scottish based showjumper Hollie Miller after a successful social media advert. She was bought to sell on but ‘hung around’ and has been produced in eventing by Tiana. Last year at Badminton the combination produced a PB in the dressage and jumped clear XC.
