Biography
It is a first Badminton for German rider Nicolai Aldinger (36) who is based in the German state of Lower Saxony. In 2024 with Badminton entry Timmo, Nicolai completed Pau and Luhmuhlen 5*.
Nico comes from an equestrian family near Stuttgart and started riding early and from 2006 – ’09 participated in three German Junior Championships and two German Team Championships. After graduating from high school in 2009, he left Stuttgart to take up an internship with Andreas Dibowski in Dohle, taking three horses with him where he completed an apprenticeship as horse manager. Prior to setting up his own business Nico studied agriculture in Göttingen then realised horses were the right direction for him. He returned to Döhle, leasing stables from Andreas. In 2019, he set up his own yard with his partner Tabea Knüppel and that year contested his first 5* at Pau with Newell, a son of the Aachen winner Serve Well, with who he won his first international. With Timmo he was longlisted for the 2022 World Championships and was a member of the winning Nations Cup team at Haras du Pin in 2022.
Timmo is a grey 15-year-old German-bred Holstein. Bred by Ole Lehmann he is by the thoroughbred sire Timolino (Monson-Trempolino) out of a mare by Carlos DZ by Cantos. He was acquired from former German team rider Peter Flarup who produced the horse to 3*.
