Biography

It is a third consecutive visit for French rider Luc Chateau (41) who has enjoyed two previously successful Badmintons with Viens du Mont – 11^th in 2023 and completing in 2024. They also completed Pau 5*.

In 2022 with Viens Du Mont he was 9^th at Pau 5*. With Troubadour Camphoux he was 4^th in the 5*L at Luhmuhlen in 2021 and the pair competed as an individual (12^th) in the 2021 European championship. They completed their first 5* at Pau in 2020.

Luc is based in Cour-Cheverny (70K east of Tours) where since 2016 Luc and his wife Caroline, a graduate instructor from the national school at Saumur, have run the riding club and school Haras des Chateaux where they also breed horses.

The couple has two young daughters aged five and eight.

Viens Du Mont is a 16-year-old Selle Francais gelding. He is by the international jumping stallion Norway de la Lande out of a mare by the French thoroughbred Kings Road who sired many event horses – including the four-star mare Erbium who became a successful broodmare for the Preci-Spark stud. He has been produced by Luc and the pair successfully completed its first 5* together at Pau in 2022 (9^th) and has since twice completed Badminton.
