Biography

It is a first Badminton for British rider Kate Rocher-Smith (40) who is based at Dassett Eventing in Warwickshire and a first 5* for her entry Dassett Select. Kate set up Dassett Eventing in 2008 producing and selling Irish horses for the sport.

Kate trains with dressage trainer Lisa White and Robert Snaddon. Kate is married to James and has a 7-year-old daughter

Dassett Select (was Blossom Namaste) is an 11-year-old registered Irish Sport Horse gelding. Bred by Knightfield Stud in Kildare he is by the Holstein jumping sire Caricello out of a mare by Hemmingway (Holstein by Leandro). He was acquired in Ireland as a 4-year-old and has been produced through the FEI levels by Kate since 2021.
