Biography
British rider Selina Milnes (49) is a professional rider with her own training and competition yard near Clevedon in North Somerset. It will be the third consecutive visit to the event for Selina who competed last year with Iron but did not finish albeit the combination completed with a double clear in 2022. With this year’s entry Gelmer Selina started at Pau 5* but withdrew before showjumping.
Selina first attained 5* level with Overton Sunrise, with who she was successful at Burghley. Bodidily also enjoyed success there (2010). She enjoys producing young horses and in 2022 was 3rd in the seven-year-old World Young Horse Championships at Le Lions with Cooley Snapchat. The pair enjoyed a successful 2023 season winning the 4*S at Bramham and was 4th in the 4*L at Boekelo.
In September 2022 with Iron she was the winner of the Nations Cup 4* at Ballindenisk and in 2021 the combination was 8th in the 5* at Pau.
Selina trains with Dickie Waygood and Ian Woodhead.
Selina (nee Elliott) is married to Scott – an equine vet and clinical director at B&W Equine Vets – and the couple has a 10-year-old daughter. Selina’s brother Grieg is a farrier for Team GB.
Gelmer is a 13-year-old KWPN registered gelding. He is by Carosso VDL out of a mare by Ahorn. He was acquired from Richard Sheane at Cooley farm as a just backed four-year-old. His owners are long-standings supporters of Selina
