Biography

It will be a first Badminton and a first 5* for amateur Irish rider Lucy Latta (27) and RCA Patron Saint. Lucy who is based in Co Wexford is a Brand Manager for the canned drinks company White Claw. With Badminton entry RCA Patron Saint Lucy has completed Blenheim 4*L and last year was 4^th in the 4*L at Blair Castle

Lucy is a former Irish Pony and Junior team medallist and in 2015 was Junior National Champion (Cleo Ferro). Due to work commitments, she currently has just the one horse.

She comes from a horsey family; her Grandfather William Powell Harris competed at Badminton and Burghley in the early 70s and was reserve for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. Her cousins Elizabeth and Robert Power are both leading equestrians. Elizabeth has completed Badminton on four occasions while Robert won the Grand National (2007 Silver Birch).

RCA Patron Saint is a British-bred SHB(GB) registered 13-year-old gelding. Bred by Richard Ames he is by Grafenstolz out of Summer Mist a mare of unrecorded breeding. Lucy gained the ride at the end of 2017 and has since produced the horse from pre-novice.
