Biography

It will be a first Badminton for British rider India Wishart (28) who is based in Godalming Surrey. In 2023 with Badminton entry Diamond Sundance, India completed her first 5* at Pau (27^th) although it was the second completion of the event for Diamond Sundance formerly ridden by Rosa Onslow.

In 2016 India was the highest placed member of the British Young Rider team at the Young rider Europeans (The Masters Harry) and the following year she  represented GB at the world student finals in Poland gaining individual and three team gold medals.

After gaining a degree in Geography from the University of Birmingham, India decided to pursue a career in eventing. In 2020 she moved to be based with Pippa Funnell at The Billy Stud and is building a string of horses. India also benefitted from being one of the Wesko Equestrian Foundation Riders for 2020/2021.

Diamond Sundance (Sunny) is an 18-year-old Irish Sport Horse registered gelding. Bred by William Kennedy he is by the KWPN sire Sunny Boy (a son of the thoroughbred Julio Mariner) out of a mare by the Irish Draught sire Glidawn Diamond. He has been owned by Cindy and Richard Onslow since a 5-year-old and was formerly ridden and competed by Cindy and her daughter Rosa and came to India in 2022 when Rosa went to work in London . He has competed in Young rider Europeans and completed Pau 5* with both Rosa and India. He is now in his 10^th season competing at 4&5* and has achieved 23 consecutive international XC clear rounds.
