Biography

It will be a first Badminton for British rider Holly Richardson (30) who is based on the family farm near Richmond in North Yorkshire. With Badminton entry Bally Louis Holly completed her first 5* at Burghley last September (22^nd).

Although from a non-horsey background (her family is involved in international trial and enduro bike sport) at the age of 12 Holly began riding out for Karen Dixon. After school she studied biomedical science at Durham University followed by a masters in equine sports science at Hartpury and was expecting to find a career within the sport. As she acquired several horses and owners however she made the decision to ride full-time. She still enjoys following racing and equine science.

Bally Louis is a 14-year-old Irish-bred gelding with no registered breeding details. He was originally produced and competed by James Somerville then bought for Sarah Wingfield who passed the ride to Holly after she sustained a shoulder injury.
