Biography
Locally based rider Georgie Goss (36) gained her 8th completion of Badminton last year with Feloupe her entry this year also.
Georgie (nee Spence) who is based near Chippenham, has been a full-time rider since leaving school and with help from her mother Jo runs a yard from home. Georgie first competed in show jumping until asked to be a member of her school’s eventing team. In 2004 she was reserve for the 2004 British European Pony event team and decided to stick with eventing. Four years later she first competed at Badminton aged 19 with Running Brook and in 2009 was the only rider to complete the cross country with two horses inside the time.
In 2006 she won the Under-18 National Championships, and for two years running (2007 & 2008) was the recipient of the BE Edy Goldman trophy presented to the leading rider Under 21. After a successful 2009 season Georgie was selected for the Young Rider European Championships with Skylight, bred by FEI judge Christian Landolt, and won team gold. In 2015 she gained her best result when 12th at Burghley with Wii Limbo.
In 2018 with Halltown Harley she was the winner of the CCI3* in Millstreet and was second in the Nations Cup in America (The Plains) and in 2017 the pair won the Nations Cup three-star competition in Wiener Neustadt, in Austria – Georgie’s first Nations Cup.
She trains with Ian Woodhead and Olivia Oakley. In 2022 she married Irish rider Toby Goss and the couple has a two-year-old son.
Feloupe is a Dutch-bred KWPN registered 15 year-old mare. She is by jumping bred by the KWPN sire Ustinov out of a mare by the Oldenberg Zapeteado. She was acquired at the end of the 2019 season from Australian rider Ben Leahy who competed her in the world 7-year-old championships (13th).
