Biography
It will be a first Badminton for Australian rider Sarah Clark (35) who is currently based near Lacock in Wiltshire. With Badminton entry LV Balou Jeanz Sarah completed Burghley last year (22nd).
Sarah whose home is in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, where she runs her own yard, has always dreamt of competing at Badminton and Burghley having watched videos of the events that were sent to her by her English aunt. Last year she sold two horses to fund the trip to the UK and achieved half of her dream when completing Burghley last September.
LV Balou Jeanz owned by the rider is a New Zealand bred 13-year-old registered New Zealand Hanoverian (NZHS) gelding. Bred at Little Valley Farm near Hamilton, North Island, he is by Balou de Rouet out of the thoroughbred mare Cotton Jenny by Colombia. He was initially produced by Jessica Woods the daughter of the breeders and was acquired from them at the end of a successful first season eventing as a six-year-old. He has wins at 4* level and competed in his first 5* at Adelaide in 2019 (12th). They completed Burghley last year (22nd).
