Biography
It will be a first Badminton for Swedish rider Sofia Sjoborg (23) one of the youngest riders this year – she will be 24 on cross-country day. Last year Sofia, who is UK-based near Tetbury, completed her first 5* at Pau with her Badminton entry DHI Mighty Dwight.
From 2016 – 2019 Sofia was based in Germany training with Michael Jung. In 2019 she relocated to the stables of British Olympic dressage rider Laura Tomlinson.
In 2014 she won the U18 championship at Weston Park. Between 2015 & ’19 she was a member of the Swedish team at Junior and Young Rider level and last year made her senior team debut at the European Championship (13th Bryjamolga VH Marienshof Z).

DHI Mighty Dwight owned by Juliet Sjoborg and rider is a Dutch-bred 17-year-old gelding. He is by the Holstein jumping sire Labor’s VDL Indorado out of a mare by Havidoff. He was acquired from Ian and Heidi Woodhead in 2014 and was originally introduced to eventing by Heidi Woodhead. He is described by Sofia as, ‘my once in a lifetime horse – more like a Labrador than a horse in the stable, but lives for competing’.
