Biography

It will be a first Badminton for French team rider Maxime Livio (34) who is based in Deneze-sous-Doué, (40k south of Angers). With Badminton entry Vitorio Du Montet Maxime was 5^th at Pau 2021 and 8^th in 2020.

He was the highest placed member of the team that contested the 2021 European Championships in Avenches and a member of the bronze medal team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games. He is currently #13 in the FEI World Rider Ranking.

Maxime and his partner Mathilde Montginoux run Ecurie Livio an eventing and showjumping training yard initiated by Maxime in 2013. Mathilde is a professional jumper and Maxime also regularly competes in FEI jumping classes.

Maxime is the trainer and selector of the Thai eventing team.

Vitorio du Montet owned by Philippe Asclipe and Ecurie Livio, is a 13-year-old French-bred Selle Francais gelding. He is by Lando out of a mare Arpege Pierreville. He was acquired from Thomas Bouquet at the end of 2016. He is described by Maxime as ‘a really big horse, not the most conventional looking animal but with a huge heart and a huge stride’. He has twice completed Pau.
