Biography

It will be a first competitive Badminton for British rider Jo Rimmer (53) who is based near Shaftesbury in Dorset where with daughter Jess she runs Team Rimmer Eventing. With Badminton entry Isaac Newton Jo has twice completed Pau 5* (2021 they were 23^rd ) and also completed Luhmuhlen 5* (2019 – 14^th).

Jo is a former schoolteacher and house parent. She has previously produced horses to advanced level including Cooleys Luxury who completed Badminton and Burghley with Tom Crisp. In 2019 with Isaac Newton she was a member of the Nations Cup team in Waregem and later that year the pair completed their first 5* at Luhmuhlen.

Her current stable yard includes Chilli’s Midnight Star with who she was 8^th in the 3*L at Blair Castle.

Jo is married to Daniel and the couple has two children, a daughter aged 21 who is studying biochemistry at Bristol and was long-listed for the Young Rider Europeans 2021 & ’22, and a son aged 18. She enjoys travel, her son’s concerts and supporting her daughters eventing.

Isaac Newton owned by the rider and Anna Slight is a British-bred (AES registered) 16-year-old gelding. He was bred by Pippa Tucker and is by the jumping sire Grannex (also the sire of Lucy Wiegersmas former ride Grantevka Prince) out of Hope IV who was by Jumbo. He was acquired by Jo as a ‘naughty’ 5-year-old and is described as ‘still naughty and can’t be hacked on his own’.
