Biography

It will be first Badminton and British event for American rider Emily Hamel (35). With Badminton entry Corvett, Emily completed her first 5* at Lexington in 2021 and the pair completed Elkton 5* later in the year (14^th).

Emily who is based in Pennsylvania is originally from Wisconsin. After graduating from college she went into horses full time. She is currently based with her trainer Phillip Dutton. She has previously competed horses to 3* and has several young horses in training.

As well as teaching riding Emily is the co-host of The Whole Equestrian podcast. She enjoys yoga and is training for a yoga teacher certificate.

Corvett, (aka Barry) owned by the Black Flag Option Syndicate, is a 15-year-old German-bred Holsteiner. He is jumping bred by the international jumper Corrido out of a mare by Clearway. Ariel came across him while working for Phillip Dutton after he went to be sold but returned as no one could ride him. He began his international event career in 2017 aged 10 but by the following season was competing at 3*. Lexington 2021 was his first 5*.
