Biography
It will be a first Badminton for British amateur rider Dr Caroline Clarke (28) who is based near Northallerton in North Yorkshire. In 2019 with A Touch Too Much she contested her first 5* at Burghley but did not complete.
In July 2018, after five years training in Bristol, Caroline qualified as a dentist and now works in dentistry in North Yorkshire for the NHS. During her time at university, she spent many weekends commuting the five hours home and back to ride and compete. She now combines her job with three horses of her own, including the full brother to Touch Too Much.
Caroline trains with Jane Bartle. Outside of eventing she enjoys cycling – in 2018 she completed a three-day ride from London to Paris and recently cycled from London to Amsterdam. She also enjoys producing young horses.
Touch Too Much (aka Possum) owned by Mrs Penny Clarke and rider, is 16-year-old Irish Sport Horse (ISH) gelding. He is by Imperial Heights (Master Imp-Clover Hill) out of a mare by ARD VDL Douglas. He was acquired through Goresbridge sales as a just backed four-year-old when Caroline was 16 and the pair has come through the levels together. In 2019 the combination started at Burghley but did not complete.
