Biography
This will be a first Badminton for British rider Camilla (Millie) Dumas (26) who is based near Shepton Mallet in Somerset on the family farm – a well-known cross country and showjumping schooling venue. Last year with Artistiek she was a member of GB Nation’s cup teams competing at Millstreet winning team silver and Waregem winning team gold.
Millie is a full-time rider and comes from an equestrian family; her father Robin, a former international rider who represented his native country of France, is a BE accredited trainer and coach as well as a cross country course designer and builder. Her mother Katie also formerly competed and has over 30years experience with horses.
Millie began competing internationally over 10-years ago – she was a member of two British Junior teams (2009 &’10). In 2011 she was awarded the Dodson & Horrell Young Rider training bursary and in 2013 was a member of the British Young Rider team winning team silver with Badminton entry Artistiek. She has also been selected for the World Championships for young horses on four occasions – in 2018 she placed 4th in the six-year-old class (Universal Cooley). She initially produced the Olympic ride of Yoshiaki Oiwa, The Duke of Cavan, with who she won the CCIU252* at Tattersalls 2014. That year she also completed her first four-star at Luhmuhlen (Action Packed) and in 2015 was a reserve for the European Championships at Blair Castle. Millie trains with her father Robin, Yogi Breisner and Tracie Robinson. Outside of eventing she enjoys walking, cycling and travelling
Artistiek (aka Artie) is a Dutch-bred KWPN registered 14-year-old gelding 2005. He is by the well-known jumping sire Numero Uno out of a mare by Hopefull. He was acquired by Millie as a six-year-old and the following year (2012) the pair won the CCI1* at Hartpury and was selected for the world seven-year-old championships at le Lions (cancelled). Last year they represented GB on Nations Cup teams.
