Biography
French rider Camille Lejeune (31) made his Badminton debut and gained his first completion in 2016. Last year with Badminton entry Tahina Des Isle he completed Burghley (16th) and Luhmuhlen (14th). Camille is based in northern France on the Normandy border and just 80k from the centre of Paris, where he runs his own yard with partner Sophie, also a rider and instructor.
Camille started riding aged two at the equestrian club owned by his parents in Limoges – his father was involved with Anglo Arab racing. A former junior and Young rider international – he competed for France in the 2005 Junior European Championships and the 2007 & ’08 Young Rider Europeans and was fifth in 2007 with the Anglo Arab Ventozien, a horse saved from slaughter who gave him his first three-star ride. He left the yard at home to train with French team rider Karim Laghouag and gained his instructors diploma. Since 2014 he has represented France in Nations Cup teams and is a member of the 2019 French eventing squad. Camille has a working partnership with the stud of Chiche Hubert producing the young horses for competition. Camille enjoys skiing, travelling and trekking.
Tahina Des Isles, is an 11-year-old Selle Francais chestnut mare. Bred by Paul Hubert of Haras Des Isles she is by Calvados out of a mare by Elan de la Cour. She has been produced by Camille since a six-year-old. She has completed Luhmuhlen and Burghley with top 20 placings.
