Biography
It will be the second visit to Badminton for former British Junior and Young Rider Alice Dunsdon (33) who is based near Ewhurst in Surrey. Last year with Badminton entry Cool Investment Alice completed both Luhmuhlen and Pau CCI4*.
Alice comes from an equestrian family; her mother was an international showjumper, her Uncle was the racehorse trainer the late Josh Gifford and her cousin is Badminton rider Tina Cook. In 2006 Alice was a member of the British Young rider team that won gold at the European Championships in Waregem (Master Taldi).
In 2016 she set herself the challenge of becoming the first rider to complete all six of the world’s four-star events on the same horse (Fernhill Present). Having completed the five (Burghley, Lexington, Pau, Adelaide and Luhmuhlen), she sadly did not complete Badminton that year, the sixth and final event on the list.
Alice who trains with Gill Watson is a senior master (MFH) of the Surrey Union hounds.
Cool Investment is a 17-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding. Bred by Des Fahy in Galway he is by the thoroughbred Tillamook (Shadeed-Exclusive Native) out of the three-quarter-bred mare Wensleydale Lady (Amoristic xx-Grand Chat xx). He was acquired from Goresbridge sales and was hunted as a young horse.
