Biography
British rider Lydia Hannon (29) who is based near Watlington in Oxfordshire made her Badminton debut in 2017 a successful one, completing and finishing in 19th place with My Royal Touch, her entry this year.
Lydia, a former working pupil to Lucy Jackson and Ernest Dillion, is a qualified BHS coach. She set up her own yard in 2012 based in the yard of My Royal Touch’s owners, Chris and Carol Harris.
Lydia’s mother Della used to showjump and competed in the Foxhunter final at Wembley and has a lot of experience in producing young horses.
Lydia trains with Jeremy Scott, Andrew Fletcher and Nigel Taylor.
She loves following all sport especially Rugby, tennis and F1
My Royal Touch owned by Christopher & Carol Harris, is a 14-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare. She is by Touchdown also the sire of Badminton entry and former winner Paulank Brockagh. She is the first of seven foals for her dam Rosy Cavalier by the leading sire Cavalier Royale. She was bought in Ireland as a 6-year-old having competed up to CCI1* with John Bannon. She is described as Lydia’s horse of a lifetime and the ‘queen bee of the yard and a huge character’.
