Biography
It will be a first Badminton for British rider Imogen Gloag (22) and Brendonhill Doublet. Imogen who is based near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire will be one of the youngest this year. The pair, former Pony Club Champions and British Junior team members gained its first four-star completion at Burghley last year.
Imogen began riding as a child. She was a member of the Heythrop Hunt Pony Club and a member of the winning team at the National Championships and in 2012 with Brendonhill Doublet won the Open individual Pony Club eventing championship. In 2013 the pair was a member of the British Junior European team and the following year was reserve for the British Young Rider team.
After leaving school Imogen worked for nearby international event rider Aoife Clarke and then spent six months on a PA course at the Oxford and Media Business School.
Brendonhill Doublet, owned by the rider, is a British-bred 17-year-old gelding. He is by the thoroughbred Future Role out of Double Trouble Two. He was formerly produced and ridden to Intermediate by Caroline Jeffries and acquired by Imogen in 2011. In 2015 the pair contested their first three-star.
