Biography
It will be a first Badminton for American rider Lynn Symansky (34) who with her Badminton entry Donner was reserve for the American Olympic team. The pair was a member of the team at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and completed Burghley 2015 (14th) and Lexington 2016.
Lynn is based near Middleburg Virginia where she runs her training business and yard. She has ridden all her life and is an A test graduate of the US Pony Club and a USEA ICP certified instructor. She has trained with Jim Wofford, Phillip Dutton and Mark Phillips and currently trains with David O’Connor.
In 2003 with former ride No It Tissant she was named to the USET High Performance list and the pair competed at the Pan Am Games as individuals finishing in 10th place. In 2007 she made her four-star debut at Lexington.
In 2011 with Burghley entry Donner she represented the US at the 2011 Pan Am Games winning team gold.
Donner owned by the Donner Syndicate is a 14-year-old 17.1hh American-bred Thoroughbred gelding. He is by the French-bred Gorky Park (who ran over jumps) out of a mare by Smarten and was acquired by Lynn off the track as a five-year-old after six starts and poor results. In 2013 he was the US top ‘off the track thoroughbred.
