Biography
British-based Swedish Olympic rider Dag Albert (49) last competed at Badminton in 2018 completing with Mitras Eminem his entry this year. Dag who has been based in the UK for many years is based near Lichfield, Staffordshire with his wife Liz, where he runs Albert Eventing.
With Tubber Rebel he was a member of the Swedish team for the 2014 WEG and with Badminton entry Mitras Eminem was a member of the fourth placed Swedish team at the 2011 European Championships.
Dag’s eventing career began in Sweden when in 1987 he was the Swedish Junior Champion. A few years later he made the move to the UK where he has since been based.
In 1996 with Nice ‘n’ Easy he was selected for the Atlanta Olympics and has since been on the Swedish squad for European and World Championships. He was a member of the team that contested the 2008 Olympics in Hong Kong where he rode the then eight-year-old Tubber Rebel who was the youngest horse to compete.
Dag is a BE Accredited Trainer. Outside of eventing he enjoys hunting and shooting He and his wife Liz have two children Maja (8) and Thomas (5) and he has two older children Miles (19) and Toby (17) from his first marriage
Mitras Eminem is a 18-year-old Swedish Warmblood (SWB) gelding. He is by Marco Mitras (a son of Irco Marco) out of a mare by the Hanoverian Marino (sire of Jan Brinks former grand prix dressage horse Kleber Martinii) who stood in Sweden. Eminem was acquired in Sweden as a five-year-old.
