We want all eventing fans to be able enjoy the fantastic spectacle of the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, so we are pleased to confirm that we are a wheelchair friendly event with excellent facilities available throughout the event.
Dedicated lakeside viewing areas for wheelchairs and mobility scooters have been created for those visiting the event on cross country day in addition to areas ensuring good viewing of everyone’s favourite unofficial fashion show – the horse inspections! There are also special car parking spots overlooking the course for those that would rather be near the comfort of their own vehicles on cross country day while the main arena has both a platform for wheelchairs and a reserved area for buggies.
In 2015 we became the first international sporting event to provide day care provision for disabled visitors via Hop Skip & Jump who will be on hand to help support families and carers so that everyone has the chance to roam the beautiful parkland and shop the trade-stands at Badminton.
The Hop Skip & Jump ‘care at the event’ facility will this year be open on Thursday 5 May to Saturday 7 May from 10am to 6pm, and on Sunday 8th May from 10am to 4pm. Reservations for this facility can be made in advance on the Hop Skip & Jump website, please note this does not include admission to the event.
By courtesy of Event Mobility, electric scooters and wheelchairs are available on loan. Weather permitting, there may also be organised course drives; we will post further information regarding these in due course.
It is essential that disabled facilities are booked in advance – space is limited and we unfortunately cannot guarantee availability for those who turn up on the day.
